NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Since launching in September 2017, Chef Isaac Toups’ Counter Club – the monthly off-menu dinner and brunch series at Toups South – has been a smashing sold-out success. Held exclusively at the restaurant’s exhibition kitchen counter, guests can enjoy four courses of imaginative, southern regional cuisine, while interacting with Chef Toups and his team.
Below is a sneak-peek at upcoming Counter Club themes, priced at $50 per person (excluding beverages, tax, and gratuity):
- Nordic on Thursday, May 16, is inspired by the cultural region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic. Dishes will include Nordic Whole Baked Salmon with dill and caviar.
- French Bistro on Sunday, May 19, is a Parisian inspired brunch that will feature inventive French specialties like beef tartare with sliced raw mushroom and potato chips.
- Eggs Around the World on Sunday, June 9, will highlight egg favorites from across the globe including eggs shakshuka.
- Summer Garden on Thursday, June 20. Celebrate the summer season with dishes like the Peter Rabbit – buttermilk fried rabbit with field peas and roasted squash.
Counter Club dinner takes place the third Thursday of each month at the Toups South exhibition kitchen, 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. inside the Southern Food & Beverage Museum (SoFAB) in New Orleans. Diners can choose from two seating times: 6 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. Counter Club brunch takes place the second Sunday of each month at noon.
Seating is very limited and reservations can only be made by calling the restaurant directly at (504) 304-2147. Diners should specify which Counter Club they’d like to attend and share any dietary restrictions.
