Children’s Hospital New Orleans Hosts 40th Annual Sugarplum Ball, Presented by Lemoine

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Children’s Hospital New Orleans will host their 40th Annual Sugarplum Ball presented by Lemoine, entitled The Emerald City, on the evening of Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the River City Ballroom and Plaza at Mardi Gras World. Friends and supporters are expected to raise more than $800,000 – a record-braking total that is a testament to the community’s unwavering support of Children’s Hospital.

Co-chaired by Sarah Feirn and Marye Nickens and led by an amazing committee of more than 100 members, patrons will enjoy unique themed décor and characters that bring the fantasy Land of Oz to life, traveling down the Yellow Brick Road to celebrate the ball in the elegant and enchanting Emerald City.

“It is powerful to reflect on the history of Sugarplum Ball – one of the New Orleans community’s most celebrated philanthropic events – marking 40 years with our 2022 ball,” said Children’s Hospital President and CEO John R. Nickens IV. “The continued generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations has made a lasting impact for our hospital and the patients and families we serve, and has helped fund vital services including our cancer program, transport services, heart center, pediatric research, family housing, and much more.”

Kicking-off with a VIP Party at 6 p.m. that features a specialty performance by NOLA Dukes Band and fare from Ralph Brennan Catering and Events, the ball will immediately follow at 7 p.m. and include culinary creations from more than 30 of New Orleans’ best restaurants, musical entrainment by KARMA and a sensational silent auction filled with unique artwork, fine jewelry, vacation packages, sports memorabilia and much more.

Following Children’s Hospital’s $300 million campus transformation late last year, proceeds from the 2022 Sugarplum Ball will support Children’s steadfast mission to provide the best care for every child regardless of his or her family’s ability to pay.

Top sponsors include Lemoine, Bernhard, The McDonnel Group, First Horizon, LSU Health New Orleans Department of Pediatrics, Tulane University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, the Ray and Jessica Brandt Family Foundation.
