NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Feil Organization is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Sip & Shop Event on Saturday, May 4, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at The Shops on Seventeenth. The Shops on Seventeenth are located at the west corner of Severn Avenue and 17th Street across from La Madeleine. (3242-3262 Severn Ave., Metairie, LA 70002)
The event is open to the public and free to attend. Shoppers will enjoy live music from Vivaz Jazz Band and complimentary margaritas from Tap Truck Nola. Participating stores include Purple Tiger, Blink, Earth Potions, Mimi’s, Kenle, Sweet Handcraft, Christine’s, and The Weekend Salon.
New this year, the merchants at 3300 Severn Ave. across from The Shops on Seventeenth will be participating; adding La Madeleine, Salon Callidora and Learning Express to the list of shops and restaurants to visit.

Each store and restaurant are offering shopping incentives as well. Below is a list of some of the things shoppers can look forward to on Saturday.
- Blink will host a Hot Pepper Scavenger Hunt in store. Find the pepper and receive up to 20% off your items.
- Earthpotions will offer shopping discounts, additional refreshments and giveaways.
- Purple Tiger will give Mexican floral headbands to the first 25 customers along with raffling off a Margarita Prize Pack including artisan rimming salt, dehydrated oranges, and a freezable margarita glass set.
- La Madeleine will celebrate by offering free samples of Tres Leches Cake along with Mexican Mimosas for $6 and Ham, Cheese and Jalapeno Danish for $4.79.
