Cocktails For A Cause

There are a lot of fun things in the cocktail world happening these days. We have sniffed out a few festive finds for you to try.

Palm & Pine (308 N. Rampart St.) – Each month, the team at Palm & Pine select a new charity and proceeds of their ‘Solidarity Cocktail’ go toward said charity. This month, Beverage Director Kimberly Patton-Bragg created the ‘A Stroll Down Gravier St,’ which is a take on a classic martini, with the proceeds going towards Women With A Vision, since March is Women’s History Month.

The drink is made with local Louisiana strawberry, hibiscus, coriander, basil, Gravier Gin, Lillet Blanc, a dash of Bitter Queens Caribbean Cate bitters and an Herbasint rinsed glass. It is the perfect excuse to head down to Palm & Pine, whether it’s for dinner or Sunday Brunch, have this cocktail and feel good that your money is going to a great cause and empowering women in New Orleans.

Otra Vez (1001 Julia St.) – Mr. Happy Hour and Otra Vez have partnered to present an all-inclusive cocktail making class featuring Tres Generaciones. The class is lead by Andrew Vaught, bar manager, drink curator and master mixologist of Otra Vez.

Those who join will learn to make three cocktails featuring Tres Generaciones tequila. You will get to mix, shake, muddle and pour your own drinks for full hands-on experience. You will also be provided dinner prepared by Otra Vez’s renowned chefs.
