Commander’s Palace Relaunches Popular Signature Cocktail Mixers Line

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Historic New Orleans establishment Commander’s Palace announces today the relaunch of its signature cocktail mixers inspired by the iconic restaurant and its co-proprietors, Ti Adelaide Martin and Lally Brennan. The three mixers—Tequila Mockingbird #2, Lime Daiquiri and Adelaide Swizzle—are favorites in Ti and Lally’s popular cocktail book, “In the Land of Cocktails: Recipes and Adventures from the Cocktail Chicks.

The Commander’s Palace signature cocktail mixers were created in collaboration with fellow New Orleans-based and female-owned craft cocktail company El Guapo. With branded labels reminiscent of the striped awnings adorning Commander’s Palace, the newly refreshed mixers bring the restaurant’s leading-edge New Haute Creole experience and rollicking Louisiana charm to homes across the country. The three Commander’s Palace signature cocktail mixers include:

  • Tequila Mockingbird #2: has tasting notes of sweet meyer lemon and dark Angostura bitters and is best mixed with gin, whiskey or brandy
  • Lime Daiquiri: has tasting notes of bright Caribbean lime and Louisiana cane sugar and is best mixed with white rum or gin
  • Adelaide Swizzle: has tasting notes of tart island lime, Peychaud’s bitters and Caribbean spice and is best mixed with light or dark rum

“The art of crafting a great cocktail is not only something we pride ourselves on at Commander’s Palace but also a time-honored family tradition,” says Ti Adelaide Martin, co-proprietor of Commander’s Palace. “We are so excited to bring back these popular signature cocktail mixers so that Commander’s Palace enthusiasts across the country can experience the restaurant’s esteemed hospitality and fan-favorite drinks.”

Legendary Commander’s Palace matriarch Ella Brennan famously held happy hour at her home next to the restaurant each day at 4 p.m., a practice which inspired Ti and Lally’s love of a properly made cocktail. The restaurant—which celebrated its 130th anniversary this year—has now come to be known for its illustrious wine and spirits program just as much as its New Haute Creole cuisine. It is a twelve-time Wine Spectator Grand Award winner and was a finalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program Award in 2016.
