Consul General of France Vincent Sciama to Honor the Memory of Those Who Fought on D-Day

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – To commemorate D-Day and the sacrifice of many American soldiers who bravely landed in Normandy and liberated Europe in 1944, the Consul General of France in Louisiana Mr. Vincent Sciama will lay a flower spray at Lafayette Cemetery on Saturday, June 6.

Every year, a ceremony take place at the WWII Museum to honour the fallen and the veterans of operation Overlord, but due to COVID-19, the ceremony was replaced by an online event, which the Consulate General of France will take part with a message on video from the Consul General Vincent Sciama.

It is to continue the tradition, despite the pandemic, that The Consulate General will pay that tribute in a safe way, to show our country’s everlasting gratitude to the U.S. troops.
