We love summertime in New Orleans. There are so many fun things to do. And we are getting a lot of emails from you, asking us to check out certain places and share it with everyone. So, here are a few of your picks and a lot of events happening around town.
Fountain Lounge (130 Roosevelt Way) is offering summertime fun for locals and visitors. The happy hour is from Tuesday-Thursday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. The lounge has partnered with Tito’s Vodka for a DIY cocktail station. That’s right, DO IT YOURSELF! There are several fresh fruits, berries and herbs set out for you to choose from to complete your drink. Guests can incorporate the options into their cocktail that will be topped off with the popular Topo Chico Mexican soda water. Here, you are encouraged to get creativel. There are mixologists on hand to help guide you through the process, muddle and mix till you have a cocktail that is uniquely yours. So much fun.
Apolline (4729 Magazine St.) has a great summertime happy hour. Not only will you get great eats, but also the drink specials are great. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 5-6 p.m. (Just one hour.) You will have options of $2 mimosas, $5 house wine, $6 classic cocktails, $4 beer and $20 bottles. Additionally, their Humpday Wednesday has all of that plus more. From open to close, the team here offers a little "wine down," where glasses of house selections are $5 and bottles are $20. It’s hard to resist this happy hour.
Pythian Market (234 Loyola Ave.) has happy hour seven days a week – even on Saturday and Sunday. Once you meander through this place there are numerous options to choose from; and we love the drink specials. Bar 1908, in the center of the food hall, offers $5 wine, $4 draft beer, $6 old fashioned and $6 G&T&T – this is a bright pink drink, which has hibiscus tea syrup, lime and gin and tonic. It’s very delicious. Happy hour runs 4-7 p.m. every day. This downtown spot is perfect for after work, before dinner or a late night libation.
Enjoy your cocktail adventure as you hop around town. If you have a favorite place you want us to highlight, let us know. We would love to share it with cocktail lovers everywhere. Cheers!
