COOLinary Restaurants We’re Excited to Try This Year

Each August, over one hundred restaurants around the city join in for a culinary offering like you’ll never see the rest of the year. COOLinary sees specialty prix fixe menus from some of New Orleans’ best restaurants for the entire month. Restaurants can offer brunch, lunch, dinner or all three options for guests to try, none of the prices going above $58 per person.

Ahead of Aug. 1, we’re sharing a few menus we’re excited to try this upcoming COOLinary month.

GW Fins

It’s no secret this one is my favorite! And while filming this month’s NOSH video with Chef Michael, he let me know that some of everyone’s favorite Fins dishes will be on the dinner menu. They haven’t released the menu yet, but I trust it’s going to be great. Fingers crossed for lobster dumplings and scallabot! – Kelly

Mister Mao

Chef Sophina and team crush every dish she has on the menu. It looks like this year they’re offering a brunch and dinner option, but haven’t released the menus just yet. Hoping the fried chicken, the cauliflower or tuna crudo are on the menu!

Saint Claire

I haven’t been able to try Saint Claire yet, so having a dinner option is the perfect excuse. Smoked beets and duck confit has me very happy for August. – Kelly

Smoked Beets
creme fraiche, trout roe

Second Course

Grouper

Succotash Nola

I got to taste a few things from their menu right when they opened and I’m mad at myself I haven’t been back. I also absolutely love the names of all the dishes on the menu. Hoping they bring that into their brunch and dinner COOLinary menus.

The Bell

If you haven’t been to The Bell yet, this is the perfect opportunity. It’s a little piece of England right in the middle of New Orleans. The food is 10/10 and there’s no way the menu will disappoint. Hopefully they’ll have everyone going full British with a Scotch egg, bangers and mash or fish and chips!

The Crustacean Club

The newly opened restaurant – which took over the spot where Effervescence used to be on Rampart – has had everyone talking lately. Looks like the dinner offering is a little of their best!

stuffed gordal olive
