NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Costera announced three reasons to pull up a seat at the bar this spring: a new Bar Tasting, The Magical Mystery Pour, and a refreshed Happy Hour Menu.
Perfect for solo diners, date nights, or small groups (up to four guests), Costera’s Bar Tasting (available at the bar only), crafted by Chef de Cuisine Kathryn Searcy, offers a two-course curated journey through the kitchen’s most beloved dishes. For just $55 per person, guests will enjoy a spread of signature tapas and a rotating selection of small and large plates, tailored to party size. Highlights include Gulf Shrimp a la Plancha with garlic, oregano, lemon and sherry; Papas Bravas with aioli and piquillo pepper puree, Roasted Mushrooms with sourdough croutons and warm egg yolk; Charred Romaine with local vegetables, toasted almonds and buttermilk dressing; Seared Yellowfin Tuna with pistachio romesco and shaved fennel; Grilled Hanger Steak with salsa verde and papas bravas; and Gulf Fish a la Plancha with leek and olive confit, charred green onion, and pepitas. For guests seeking an even more expansive offering, Costera’s $75 Four-Course Family-Style Tasting Menu remains available year-round to all guests.
The newly launched Magical Mystery Pour is a wine experience for adventurous sippers. For $20 a glass, enjoy a blind pour from a rotating selection of rare and limited wines that typically wouldn’t make it to the by-the-glass list. This special offering features higher-end bottles in small quantities, bringing a touch of the unexpected to your glass—always a surprise, always something special.
Reintroducing Happy Hour from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, Costera’s bar team is “shaking things up” with a rotating selection of $10 classic cocktails, $6 Costera originals, and an expanded menu of Tapas favorites. New to the Happy Hour menu are both half and full-size portions of popular dishes, including Boquerones with grilled sourdough and green olive tapenade, Pan Con Tomate with roasted garlic aioli; Bombas filled with beef shank and potato topped with aioli and pickled chilies; and Roasted Squash & Mixed Green Salad with bleu cheese and candied walnuts.
Happy Hour cocktails on offer feature both well-made classics and Costera originals. Highlights include Costera Dirty Martini with Luksusowa and house brine blend; Hugo Spritz with Combier Elderflower, mint, Cava and soda; Vermouth + Tonic with La Copa Rojo or Atxa Blanco and tonic; Going Back to Kali with Fernet Francisco, red wine syrup, lemon, and coca cola; Hotel Nacional with Planteray 3 Star rum, pineapple, lime, apricot; and Siesta with Mi Campo Blanco, Campari, grapefruit, lime. The rotating cocktail lineup will highlight a wider range of spirits, liqueurs, and aperitivi—designed to pair effortlessly with the kitchen’s vibrant, coastal fare.
