Crescent 9 Sponsors Bayou Boogaloo With Two THC Seltzers

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Crescent Canna, a New Orleans-based cannabis company, is the official VIP sponsor of The Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo, taking place on Bayou St. John from May 17 to May 19. The festival will feature local food and art and performances by Nik West, GZA & The Phunky Nomads, Afroman, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, and other amazing artists.

“We are so excited to have Crescent 9 back at Bayou Boogaloo,” says Crescent Canna CEO Joe Gerrity. “Our favorite local music festival deserves the best local THC seltzer.”

Doubling the fun of last year’s festival, which featured only one Crescent 9 flavor, this year Bayou Boogaloo will feature two highly refreshing Crescent 9 THC Seltzer flavors at all festival and mobile bars: Crescent 9’s lightly caffeinated Tropical THC Seltzer and its new caffeine-free Ginger Lemonade THC Seltzer.

Both Crescent 9 flavors contain a soothing blend of THC and CBD that provides euphoric and uplifting effects. It’s the perfect alcohol alternative for festivals.

“We’re proud to partner with the front runner who introduced THC drinks to our market, Crescent 9 THC Seltzer, a great alternative to alcohol for our festival goers,” said Jared Zeller, the producer of the festival. “The niche for these refreshing drinks seems to be those who prefer to stay away from alcohol. We’re delighted to offer both Crescent 9 Ginger Lemonade and Tropical flavors this year.”

Last year, when Bayou Boogaloo offered Crescent 9 THC Seltzer, it became Louisiana’s first music festival to feature THC drinks. After Boogaloo broke the ice, dozens of other local events embraced THC drinks as an alternative to alcohol.

More than a staple of the New Orleans party scene, the explosively popular Crescent 9 is now available at hundreds of bars, restaurants, music venues, and retailers throughout the state, including Rouses Markets and Total Wine.

Thanks largely to beverages, the consumable hemp industry has become one of Louisiana’s fastest-growing industries, with a growth rate of 65x since 2021. Crescent Canna itself has become the fastest-growing business in the state – but its growth may be halted.

Last month, the Louisiana Senate passed SB 237, which would eliminate virtually all hemp products on the market in Louisiana. Now the House is considering it. If it passes there and is signed into law, the legislation would ban 97% of the hemp market, including all THC beverages like Crescent 9, decimating a thriving new industry and the thousands of Louisiana small businesses that have invested in it.

“Bayou Boogaloo has been a fantastic partner,” says Crescent Canna CMO David Reich. “Their early support for THC seltzers raised awareness of these products as a fun festival drink that lacked the downsides of alcohol. Last year, Bayou Boogaloo made history as the first New Orleans music festival to sell THC drinks as an alcohol alternative. We hope it’s not the last.”

Bayou Boogaloo day and weekend passes, water tickets, and Crescent 9 VIP Canopy Club passes are now available.
