NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Crescent City Stage announces its 2024 Season Programming with the regional premiers of “The Cake” by Bekah Brunstetter and Amy Herzog’s adaptation of the classic drama “A Doll’s House.” Returning for a second year is the audience and critic holiday favorite, Patrick Barlow’s, “A Christmas Carol.”
The season will open on May 31 with “The Cake” by Bekah Brunstetter. In this touching and topical dramatic comedy, a vivacious, conservative North Carolina baker named Della faces a crisis of conscience when Jen – whom she loves like a daughter – asks her to bake a cake for Jen’s lesbian wedding. The Cake will run through June 16.
Next up, straight from its premiere on Broadway, is Amy Herzog’s adaptation of the classic drama “A Doll’s House,” which will open on Sept. 5 and close Sept. 22.
Closing out the 2024 season in December, audiences will get into the holiday spirit with the return of “A Christmas Carol” in a new adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel by Patrick Barlow. “A Christmas Carol” will debut on Dec. 5 and run through Dec. 22.
