Crimestoppers “Lock It or Lose It” during this Carnival Season

Darlene Cusanza is the president and CEO of Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans. Many of us are familiar with Crimestoppers as the organization that offers reward money for information leading to the arrests of criminal suspects, but this organization works to combat crime in many other ways. In this podcast, Cusanza describes the group’s new public awareness campaign, “Lock It or Lose It”, to remind people to lock their cars, especially during the hectic Carnival season with all of its distractions. Cusanza points out that “There are things people can do to make themselves less of a target,” and she offers some suggestions about how people can keep themselves and their property safe. From its prevention programs aimed at helping our youth to the organization’s important “active shooter” program, Crimestoppers offers an array of services to raise awareness about and reduce crime in New Orleans.
