Approximately 500 people gathered at the New Orleans Hilton on April 1, for the Celebrating Life luncheon held by the Cancer Crusaders. Cancer Crusaders raises money for cancer research in the New Orleans area, locally contributing to cancer research at universities including Tulane and Louisiana State.
The luncheon is held to honor active community members who battled cancer and were able to return to their previous level of activity. Cancer Crusaders
presents the honors to give inspiration to those currently battling the disease.
Honorees at this year’s luncheon included Bonnie Broel, Dr. Gus Colon, Kathleen Collins, Mary Ann Diedrich, Pat Golemi, Vinny Mosca, Mollye Penner, the Honorable Chris Roberts, Angelle Romig, Fred Schulmann, Adrienne Tervalon and Cookie Gelpi Zibilich.
