The evening of August 25th was filled with fun and music as the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation held its event “LA Fete Cultural.” The event marks the fifth anniversary of the LCEF, which strives to help Louisiana’s vibrant community of cultural workers.
The Patron Party, which began at 6 p.m., was held in the Contemporary Arts Center’s atrium and galleries. It didn’t take long for the party to really get started as The Shannon Powell Trio provided live entertainment with special guest Carol Fran. As guests enjoyed the lively music they noshed on food provided by a variety of local restaurants.
Celebrity guests Michael Cerveris and Faith Ford were also in attendance, adding a little more star power to the already fabulous event. Both live and silent auctions rounded out the evening.
At 7:30 that evening the party transitioned into the main event: a headline concert. Partygoers made their way to the CAC Warehouse for the jamming portion of the evening. Mario Cantone, of “Sex and the City” fame, emceed the concert. On stage that night were some of Louisiana’s finest entertainers including Tab Benoit’s Swampland Jam, Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience and more.
