Melissa Leigh Daigle and Anthony Joseph Markiewicz were united in marriage Oct. 27, 2008, in a 1 p.m. ceremony at Annadele’s Plantation in Covington. The ceremony was officiated by the Honorable Charles Cusimano, II.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Keith Daigle. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph J. Daigle and Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Cusimano. The groom is the son of Mrs. Florence Markiewicz and the late Mr. Anthony Joseph Markiewicz. He is the grandson of Ms. Frances Marquez and the late Floyd Marquez and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Markiewicz.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, princess ball gown with a cathedral length train in spun gold tulle and satin. She was carrying a bouquet of ivory and champagne roses wrapped in satin ribbon.
Ashley Campo served her sister as Matron of Honor. The Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Joneé Daigle-Ferrand and Genevieve Daigle and the groom’s sister, Miss Maria Markiewicz. Each attendant wore agora colored long satin dresses by Melissa Sweet and carried blue hydrangeas. Renee Simon and Hannah Campo served as flower girls, wearing a replica of the bride’s gown. Lilian and Madeleine Campo served as little girls and wore blue silk dupioni dresses.
Michael Roberts served as the Best Man. Patrick Daigle, Chip Simmons and Jason Falgoust served as Groomsmen. Brad Ferrand and Gabrielle Wiseman served the groom as Ushers. The ring bearer was Eli Wiseman.
Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at Annadele’s Plantation with exquisite food and drinks catered by Annadele’s. The guests danced to music by Dr. Jazz. The Bride and Groom’s cakes were created by Zoë’s bakery; the four-layer Bride’s cake was traditional with strawberry filled white chocolate with ivory sugar roses while the Groom’s cake was chocolate with strawberries.
On Thursday night, the groom’s family hosted a Rehearsal Dinner at Friends Restaurant.
Following a cruise to the Caribbean, the couple is residing in Baton Rouge.
