A 25th anniversary is something to really celebrate, which is exactly what Casa Argentina did on Nov. 3, with a “Tiempo Tango” at the Sheraton Hotel. Highlights of the evening included a silent auction of artwork and other intriguing items, and a performance by Carolina Zokalski and Diego Di Falco, an acclaimed couple in the world of Argentine tango and members of the cast of the original Broadway production of “Forever Tango.” The Binelli-Ferman duo, along with special guest Pablo Aslan also put on a show, and the local musical group Julio y Cesar played Latin music throughout the evening.
Chaired by Luz Caputto, Juan Gershanik and Emma Brannan, the event raised money for a number of charities—a portion also benefited the special programs at Esperanza School in Mid-City.
Casa Argentina of New Orleans is a nonprofit organization with the mission of preserving the Argentinean culture as well as developing educational and philanthropic activities. The tango events also aim to enrich the cultural diversity in New Orleans.
