Earlier this year, the exciting addition of a new hotel right outside the Saenger Theatre’s doors kept Canal Street buzzing. Following the tragic and unforeseen collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel however, the Saenger Theatre closed its doors to patrons as the area and the theater were cut off to cars and foot traffic.
This week, the Saenger Theatre re-opened its doors ahead of the next Broadway In New Orleans show “A Christmas Story, The Musical.” With the announcement of the reopening, the theater let patrons know that it will begin serving a “Happier Hour” to entice everyone to arrive and park early, due to popular parking areas cut off by the construction.
The happy hour includes reduced prices on most of the offerings at the theater bar. In addition to lower prices on house wines, beers and well cocktails the happier hour includes complimentary snacks.
“Let Them Eat Cake” is always looking for fun things couples can do to spice up date nights before a wedding, and an entertaining night at the theater, to us, is one of them. The 2019-2020 season is far from over and offers a little something for everyone. Following “A Christmas Story” is “Miss Saigon,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Jersey Boys,” “Mean Girls,” “Anastasia” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
