The Smile Effect is a referral-based prosthodontic practice serving patients and dentists throughout the New Orleans area. Led by Dr. Marco Brindis, the practice focuses on complex restorative care, implant dentistry, function, and natural aesthetics, especially when a smile, bite, or dentition has been compromised over time.
For Dr. Brindis, prosthodontics is more than rebuilding teeth. It is about understanding the whole patient. Every case begins with a comprehensive evaluation of health, function, airway, facial balance, materials, and long-term stability, so treatment is not only beautiful, but healthy, precise, and lasting.
Dentistry has been part of Dr. Brindis’ life for as long as he can remember. Inspired by his father, also a prosthodontist, he knew from a young age that he wanted to help others through restorative care. Nearly 27 years after graduating from dental school, that passion remains the foundation of his work.
“I love what I do because I have seen how much a smile can change a person’s life,” says Dr. Brindis. “Continuing my father’s legacy is one of the greatest honors of my life.”
Teaching has always been one of Dr. Brindis’ greatest passions. After 17 years in academia at LSU, he continues to lecture nationally and internationally, sharing knowledge with colleagues while staying deeply connected to the profession. For him, education is another way to serve—helping dentists, patients, and the broader New Orleans community benefit from thoughtful, evidence-based restorative care.
