Each week, we highlight a bridal couture designer and the most recent collections. This week, our designer of the week spotlight is the Pronovias Atelier Haute Couture collection.
The company that is now Pronovias began as a small, family-owned store in the 1920s in Barcelona. Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste’s lace, embroidery and high-quality silk fabric store was responsible for dressing the city’s high society bridal clients.
Bienveniste’s company continued and grew, opening other stores throughout Barcelona. In the ‘80s, Pronovias went international and opened stores around Europe and Latin America. By the early 2000s the company had grown into a multifaceted entity, brought on designers to collaborate on the collections and opened a six-story flagship store in New York.
In 2013, the company launched the Atelier Collection, bringing elegant, couture designs to the public. At the latest Bridal Fashion Week in New York City, Pronovias debuted its 2016 Spring Atelier Collection.
