This past Sunday night was the 69th annual Tony Awards. The Tony Awards is a night devoted to Broadway and a celebration of the talented individuals that perform amazing productions night after night. Since 1947, the former, current and soon-to-be legends of the Broadway stage have gathered in New York to highlight the accomplishments and talents of each of the year’s productions.
Just like countless award shows preceding it, the Tony red carpet has become a “who wore what” night of fashion. A-listers and Broadway titans alike brought interesting style and big fashion names to the red carpet. Many celebs also donned a more bridal look and opted for sometimes crisp, sometimes diaphanous white hues.
Mega-star of screen and stage, Dame Helen Mirren wore a floor-length Badgley Mischka dress with an embellished V-neck and flowing sleeves that had the effect of a cape. The current Spring 2015 collection of Badgley Mischka, a previous Designer of the Week,is available in select styles at Blanc Bridal Boutique on Magazine Street.
Former Best Leading Actress in a Musical Tony Winner, Patina Miller wore a simple, embellished sheath Jason Wu gown. This design is perfect for the simple bride who favors a brunch reception or a City Hall wedding. Designer Jason Wu has bridal designs available at Neiman Marcus.
Mad Men star Elizabeth Moss wore a floor-length Oscar de la Renta design with a natural waist, halter-top and flower design embellishment. Adding color into your wedding gown is an ideal option for the non-traditional bride. Oscar de la Renta’s bridal 2016 collection debuted at Bridal Fashion Week and is available now at OscardelaRenta.com.
Judith Light opted for an Elie Saab jumper with lace embellishments on the bodice, a V-neck and long sleeves. Pants and women’s suit option are becoming a trend in the bridal world, especially on the fashion runways. We love this feminine, lace option for the bride opting for comfort on her wedding day. The 2015 Elie by Elie Saab collection is available now through Pronovias.
Tomorrow is the New Orleans Bride Magazine June 2015 bridal show at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Tickets are still available to meet a vast array of wedding professionals from around New Orleans. Click here for more information and to purchase your tickets.
