Every October, the finest fishermen in the world, and many who are just seeking a good time in a perfect setting, descend on “The Luckiest Fishing Village in the World” for the annual Destin Fishing Rodeo.
Since 1948, fishing vessels, adventurers, amateurs yearning for excitement and all manner of sportspeople have been heading for these open waters. Traveling out of Destin Harbor, through picturesque East Pass, Texas, and into the Gulf of Mexico, each of more than 30,000 competitors battles the waves hoping to “catch the big one.”
