On June 20, the American Cancer Society held their 2008 Celebrity Waiter event at Andrea’s Restaurant in Metairie.
Host Waiter Chef Andrea Apuzzo, Maitre d’ Ray Seamon and Emcee Jack Sloan joined an esteemed group of ACS supporters, including celebrity waiters Aaron Broussard, Lee Georgio, Paul Johnson, Tricia Trifley, Judy Labella, Brad Grundmeyer, Joseph Rault, Polly Thomas, Jo-Ann Keagan, Jerry Dual, Ryan Labadot and Wayne Francingues.
“Each celebrity waiter came up with a theme for his or her table. For
example, I Love Lucy was a theme where the waiters dressed as Lucy and Ethel; other themes included New Orleans Saints, casino night and gypsy. The
waiters decorated the table in that theme complete with costumes to match,” Jewel Bush, ACS communications and marketing specialist, says.
Guests also enjoyed a fun activity called the balloon pop, where attendees purchased then popped the orbs to obtain prizes listed on slips of paper inside.
Aaron Broussard, Retirement Plan Advisors, Cox Communications, Jack Sloan Financial Advisors, Rebowe & Company, Lakeside Shopping Center, Labella’s Catering and Labadot Construction/Francingues Financial Group sponsored tables. Wine for the evening was sponsored by Johnny Liccardi.
The event raised funds for fulfillment of ACS’s mission of research, advocacy, education and service.
