The New Orleans Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Service and Tulane Hillel held this year’s “Victory on the Bayou” on Saturday, October 2, at The National World War II Museum.
The patron party kicked off at 6:45 p.m. and featured cocktails and a private viewing of Beyond All Boundaries, the Museum’s 4-D movie experience narrated by Tom Hanks. The main event followed at 8 p.m. This year’s Victory on the Bayou was co-chaired by JCC’s Richard Buchsbaum, JFS’s Henry Rosenblat and Hillel’s
Sarah Hess.
The event featured entertainment by the Museum’s vocal trio, the Victory Belles, and swing band, the Victory 6, as well as eatables from Chef John Besh and the American Sector. Guests enjoyed an open bar, a silent auction, a live sports auction with Lee Zurik and a Victory raffle of $2,500.
The three nonprofits provide such services to the New Orleans community as day care, summer camp, teen suicide prevention, Alzheimer’s respite programs, college student outreach, Lifeline, mental health counseling and other educational, cultural and wellness events.
