With earlier positions as both a massage therapist and biochemist, Dr. Arwen Podesta has merged her interests in mind-body wellness and biology throughout her medical career. In 2012, she opened Podesta Psychiatry LLC, which has since grown into the current, multi-modal collaboration of Podesta Wellness.
After attending USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Arwen moved to New Orleans for a psychiatry residency at LSU. She then completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Tulane and is now board certified in Adult Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Integrative & Holistic Medicine. In 2009, she was awarded Gambit Weekly’s “40 Under 40.”
Arwen continues to teach and pursue academics while maintaining involvement with numerous institutions and organizations.
