NEW ORLEANS (press release) – In celebration of Pride Month, Jack Daniel’s has partnered with four celebrity drag queens (two Drag Race alums!) for a first-time virtual series that blends two wildly popular Millennial food trends: the “drag brunch” and the mukbang, a type of online video in which the host consumes food while interacting with an audience.
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire Presents Drag Queen Mukbang features an all-star lineup led by YouTube sensation Patrick Starrr, The Try Guys’ Eugene Lee Yang, and former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Gia Gunn and Laganja Estranja. In between the jokes and the quips, the hosts will discuss the impact of COVID on the LGBTQ+ and drag community, who have struggled in the wake of the pandemic. (The four episodes were self-shot by hosts during May, prior to the recent national protests.)
The online drag queen food series, through which Jack Daniel’s will be supporting local LGBTQ+ organizations across the U.S. such as New Orleans’ New Orleans LGBT Hospitality Alliance.
Patrick Starrr’s episode is available here, and Eugene Lee Yang’s episode is available here.
