Dec. 28: Drew Brees and the Brees Dream Foundation announced today a $100,000 contribution to the 9th Ward Field of Dreams. The gift supports the building of a shared community space including a state-of-the-art football field, track, stadium seating, and lighting to be open to the public, free of charge, on the campus of G.W. Carver High School. The donation is part of the Brees Dream Foundation’s continued efforts to give back to the city of New Orleans.
"Once constructed this facility will be the first public space of its kind in New Orleans, serving as a true community space in every sense of the word," said 9th Ward Field of Dreams founder Brian Bordainick. "Drew’s commitment to our organization illustrates the fact that together we can create lasting change, and push this great city forward," Bordainick continued.
"Brittany and I are glad that the Brees Dream Foundation was able to participate in this great project," said Saint’s quarterback Drew Brees.
