Easter in The Crescent City: Festive Brunches & Dinners

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Festive Easter brunches and dinners are popping up throughout New Orleans.

Mister Mao is continuing its Guest Chef Charity Series with a very special Tex Mex Easter BBQ Supper Club on SundayApril 17, from 5-8 P.M. That evening, Mister Mao Chef/Owner Sophina Uong will team up with guest Chef Austin Lane of local Mexican street food hotspot El Cucuy and oyster farmer Nathan Herring of sustainable oyster farm Bright Side Oysters to create a celebratory Easter dinner to benefit Trampled Rose Rescue – a nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist with the rehabilitation of orphaned, injured and abandoned dogs. Priced at $100 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), the four-course dinner includes two drinks including a Chocolate Bunny Tiki cocktail made with mezcal, over-proof rum, coconut and lime, served inside a hollow chocolate bunny (additional beverages are available for purchase). Guests can enjoy dishes created by Houston native Chef Austin Lane, along with “inauthentic” globally-inspired eats from Chef Uong. Supper highlights include Char Grilled Bright Side OystersCoctel de Camaron y PulpoTaki Locos – clamato, chamoy, Valentina hot sauce; Whole Smoked Lamb + Fixins’; and a decadent ice cream creation by Sam Caruso of Laozi ice Cream

In addition to the Easter Supper Club, Mister Mao will open for Easter Brunch on Sunday, April 17, from 11 A.M. – 2 P.M. The menu features an array of creative dishes such as Kashmiri Hot Chicken Benedict served on a Hawaiian pineapple roll with a Vidalia onion milk gravy and sunny eggs; Braised Pork ChilaquilesDumplings and Jelly Doughnuts with hibiscus and blood orange sugar. Toups Meatery

Toups Meatery, the contemporary restaurant that showcases Chef Isaac Toups’ Cajun rustic cookery, is welcoming diners on Easter Sunday for a spectacular Easter Brunch. Available on SundayApril 17, from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M., Easter Brunch will feature festive specialty items such as Isaac’s famed Crawfish Pies and BBQ Mississippi Rabbit with heirloom grit cake and apple slaw. The signature a la carte brunch menu will also be available with delectable dishes such as Chicken Chilaquiles – verde sauce, fried egg, cheddar, corn chips, crema; Coffee Cake – caramel coffee sauce, candied bacon; and Fried Redfish Benny – braised greens, poached eggs, smokey green hollandaise. Jack Rose

Treat yourself this Easter Sunday with a festive brunch at the lively Jack Rose restaurant, located inside the historic Pontchartrain Hotel. On SundayApril 17, from 11 A.M. – 3 P.M., guests can indulge in a special four-course Easter Brunch crafted by Chef/Owner Brian Landry. Selections include Grilled Baby Artichokes – lemon aioli, parmesan bread crumbs; Crawfish Benedict – buttermilk biscuits, poached eggs, lobster butter;  Lamb Chops – couscous tabbouleh, eggplant, smoked labneh; Duck Confit Hash – fried duck eggs, hollandaise; and Green Curry Noodles – chili crisp, charred bok choy, poached egg. Virgin Hotels New Orleans signature eatery and go-to for dining and imbibing, is inviting diners to celebrate Easter Sunday with a live performance by Jenn Howard Band and an unforgettable brunch spread curated by Executive Chef Alex Harrell. Diners can indulge in Easter specials such as Spring Vegetable Hash with quinoa, smoked salmon and fried eggs; Brioche French Toast with Lousiana strawberries; and a Smoked Beet Salad.
