Emeril’s Flagship Restaurant in New Orleans to Close Temporarily for Renovations

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Emeril’s will close for renovation with a complete gutting of the interior of the building planned. The last night of service before the temporary closure is July 15.

The transformation comes 33 years after the Lagasse flagship opened in New Orleans’ Warehouse District. Chefs Emeril and E.J. Lagasse have enlisted Rozas Ward and Jem West to help elevate the restaurant and kitchen to complement the newly refined style of the iconic restaurant.

The redesigned kitchen will allow for a more intentional workflow and service efficiency suited to the restaurant’s contemporary tasting menu format. In the dining room, guests will experience a quainter atmosphere, with a small number of tables allowing the team to curate a memorable evening for each guest.

The team is setting out to provide a luxury dining experience through the lens of Louisiana culture, focusing on independent farmers and local sourcing. The two distinct tasting menus, Classic and Seasonal, will encapsulate the seasons in Louisiana while paying homage to the last 33 years of Emeril’s. Reservations will be available through the restaurant’s website beginning in late-September.

Upon reopening, The Salon at Emeril’s will be accessible through the Julia Street entrance. The Salon will embody the Lagasse’s love of food, wine, music, and art. It will showcase small plates inspired by the team’s favorite dishes from around the world, as well as unfettered access to the restaurant’s Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine list. The Salon at Emeril’s will be an inviting setting for a glass of wine after work or sharing snacks with family and friends. Reservations in The Salon are not required.

WHEN: July 16 – September 26
