NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Rink and The Garden District Book Shop are teaming up to make sure you beat the heat and have fun all summer long with a brand new installment of the Dog Days of Summer.
The Rink will be a social hub this summer for locals and visitors alike. Each day will feature engaging programming and happy hour specials. The daily programming is open to the public and will run from 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 3-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Also to note, The Garden District Books Shop’s new bar is open just in time for summer. The bar will be open weekdays from 4-7 p.m. and 12-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The growing bar menu features select beer, wines,Tip Top Proper cocktails and daily specials. The new bar also has an inviting lounge area for guests to read and relax in.

Crafternoon with Craft Cocktails
Friends of The Garden District Book Shop will lead guests through an engaging craft that is suitable for all ages. The crafts are free and open to the public.
For July crafts that require a RSVP, interested parties must send an email to gardendistrictbookshop@gmail.com. RSVPs are required to reserve your spot. More details will be shared via email and payment will be collected on-site.

Basic drawing supplies will be provided by The Garden District Book Shop but guests are encouraged to bring their own materials if they want to work in a certain medium. Thursday’s will also feature brand new pop-tails.

Cheese Committee
Celebrate the end of the work week by sitting down with friends to sample a variety of cheeses.
Saturday
Enjoy a beloved film inspired by a book at The Garden District Book Shop every Saturday. There will be popcorn, spiked punch and other beverages available for purchase.
