Jon Vaccari Antiques and Design features a large selection of antiques, many of which are French and from the early 20th century. The shop is the exclusive New Orleans retailer of Baker Furniture and McGuire Furniture. The building is located in an 1853 Greek Revival building, now designated a historical landmark, on St. Charles Avenue. Decorator Jon Vaccari bought the space in 2005, planning to use it as a commercial space for tenants. After Katrina, he decided to turn it into his own business.

Today the shop showcases elegant furniture including table lamps by Garouste & Bonetti, black leather Marco Zanuso chairs and a bronze vitrine made by Jacques Grange for Yves Saint Laurent’s Paris boutique. The selection reveals many Asian and European influences, contemporary and traditional. John Vaccari Design offers a variety of stylish chairs, sofas, tables and lamps to decorate the home with class.

“Bringing people together and living life is everything to me,” Vaccari says. “I love entertaining and creating beautiful spaces for a living.”

State-of-the-Art Tulane OB/GYN
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University Medical School boasts of having been a leader in OB/GYN education for more than 100 years. It has a long history in patient care, research and resident education; it  is also looking forward through modern technology, expanding obstetrical and gynecological education as methods become more advanced.

The department includes expertise in the following areas: maternal fetal medicine; reproductive endocrinology and fertility; gynecologic oncology; female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery; and general obstetrics and gynecology. Additionally, Tulane uses progressive technology to perform minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as an alternative to traditional gynecologic surgery. Minimally invasive surgery leads to faster and less painful recovery, less blood loss and minimal scarring.

According to a department representative, Tulane research endeavors provide advanced knowledge in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the subspecialty areas of high-risk pregnancy, female cancer, infertility and urogynecology. The Tulane OB/GYN Department works on the leading edge toward better health.
