NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Evenings with Enrique returns to the New Orleans Botanical Garden in October, offering guests an enchanting evening in the lush gardens while enjoying live performances from local Latin artists. Thanks to The Helis Foundation, admission is free for all Louisiana residents.

FOOD: No outside food and beverages allowed. Food and beverages will be available for purchase prepared fresh on site at the Kitchen in the Garden.
SPECIAL FEATURE:    Local artist Hugo Montero will unveil his DÃa de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altar inside the Conservatory of the Two Sisters on Wednesday, Oct. 15. The altar will remain on display through Sunday, Nov. 2. Louisiana residents receive free admission to the Botanical Garden on Wednesdays through The Helis Foundation’s Art for Allinitiative, where they can view the altar.
Evenings with Enrique is a bi-annual concert series each April and October honoring renowned Mexican artist Enrique Alférez, who lived in New Orleans for almost 70 years and left a lasting mark on the city’s art scene. More than 20 of his works are featured at The Helis Foundation Enrique Alférez Sculpture Garden inside the New Orleans Botanical Garden, with additional pieces on view at Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans Museum of Art, Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibition and throughout New Orleans City Park.
Year-round, The Helis Foundation expands public access to the arts through its Art for All initiative, offering free admission on select days for Louisiana residents at several of the city’s leading cultural institutions, including the New Orleans Botanical Garden, New Orleans Museum of Art, Contemporary Art Center New Orleans, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Louisiana Children’s Museum.
