Start the Vue experience on the second floor of its World Trade Center location, where guests get a close-up view of tribes of Mardi Gras Indians as their intricately beaded ensembles explode from the screen in a burst of brilliant music, color, and plumage. The interactive Confluence of Cultures wall offers a high-tech look at king cake, house floats, the 610 Stompers, and more. In the Story Café, local culture ambassador Poppy Tooker and Chef Kevin Belton provide an interactive menu where guests can order up the stories of 12 iconic New Orleans dishes, including king cake. Before leaving the second floor and heading to the top, dress up virtually in a masquerade ball gown, as a Mardi Gras jester or as a marching band member in the parade.
Take a ride to the 34th floor, grab a piece of Haydel’s king cake and a local brew in the café, and head out to take in the open-air view of the entire city and beyond. With a 360° bird’s eye view of Canal Street, you can watch a parade from a completely different perspective or scope out the best spot to watch a parade on the sidewalk side or neutral ground side.
