Fashionable Tastes

Dress For Success promotes its mission through an annual luncheon.

On Wednesday, April 14, event attendees at the Dress for Success Women’s Luncheon gathered to talk about women’s empowerment and dine – fashionably, of course.

The annual “Suits and Salads” event was held in the Windsor Court Hotel, in the La Chinoiserie room. The wine tasting and silent auction began at noon, and lunch began at 12:45 p.m.

In keeping with the theme of the event, guests enjoyed Windsor Court’s signature salad with grilled chicken, roasted tomato and eggplant bisque and a dark chocolate mousse with raspberry marmalade and chocolate cake. They sampled Landmark Vineyards’ Pinot Grigio and Arnold Palmers throughout the lunch.

Vogue senior editor and Newsweek contributor Julia Reed led the luncheon.

Reed shared stories about her experiences as a professional woman in New Orleans and spoke on the sense of empowerment that many women enjoy when wearing professional attire. Later, the event paid tribute to Ingrid Thompson, a Dress For Success client, in a 7 minute long video that outlined her journey with the organization.

The event co-chairs this year were Daphne Berger, CeCe Villere Colhoun, Lisa Biderman of Hiller Jewelry and Dress For Success board president, Lauren Hotard.
