The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans celebrated another year of philanthropy, both local and international, with “Campaign Celebration” on Thursday, March 5 at the Doubletree Hotel on Canal Street. “The campaign helps fund day school education, young leadership programs, financial support for newcomers and returning families to the community, outreach to the greater New Orleans community and social action projects that benefit the metropolitan area,” says Cait Muldoon.
Morris Bart and Janice Stern led guests in the festivities of the evening including awarding the Fourth Annual Roger Bissinger Memorial Award to Margot Garon and Frances Wolff. The evening hit a high note with an appearance by husband and wife team James Carville (aka the Ragin’ Cajun) and Mary Matalin. They treated the group to a presentation of “All’s Fair: Love, War and Politics,” a similar project to their New York Times bestseller All’s Fair: Love, War and Running for President.
Tickets were discounted for students interested in inspiration from these dedicated presidential campaign trailblazers.
As the grand finale, a kosher dessert reception provided special goodies to the delight of all.
