NEW ORLEANS (press release) – With many schools having to adapt to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis with the addition of Zoom classes, hybrid instruction and new schooling routines, Fidelity Bank and FOX 8 have partnered to honor New Orleans-area educators with special “Golden Apple” Awards. Each month, students, parents, co-workers and community members can nominate a local educator who is making a difference in the lives of their students.
The Golden Apple Awards will be given out each month of the school year. Those wishing to nominate an outstanding educator must submit a nomination form at www.fox8live.com/goldenapple.
”Even before the COVID crisis, the jobs of educators were severely under-appreciated,” said Fidelity Bank CEO and President Chris Ferris. “Now, in these new times, teachers are asked to adapt even more and find new ways to keep students engaged and learning through trying times. We chose to partner with FOX 8 for the Golden Apple Awards to honor teaching in our area making a positive impact on their students.”
Fidelity Bank has a tradition of engaging children in financial literacy at all stages of their childhood so they are better prepared to manage their finances as adults. The local bank has been working with many New Orleans-area schools since 2016 using financial literacy curriculum that’s available via their website.
