If you want a quality living room sofa, it will be an investment. Many of the superlative selections cost more than my first two cars combined (although they were real clunkers)! But after thoughtful consideration, I’ve concluded that the costs are mostly justified. If we compare the purchase to a vehicle, the couch is a better deal. I’ll spend about the same amount of time lounging on my couch as I will driving in my car- and the comfort of the former is far superior. I never have to take my sofa in for tune-ups or an oil change. Occasional pillow fluffing and spot cleaning will do the job. To boot, our couch serves as a venue for my two favorite things; streaming TV shows and snuggling my kids. So, before you purchase a new sofa, remember that your comfort is worth the investment. Keith St. Pierre at Eclectic Home reminds me that almost every couch they have is customizable in terms of size and fabric. What you see on the website is not all that is possible. It’s well worth the time to shop in person and select something both sturdy and comfortable. Â
