On March 25, delightful scents of some of the town’s best restaurants filled the air surrounding Lafreniere Park. Fifty-one tables featuring vendors across the city took center stage at this year’s Taste of the Town, put on by the Louisiana Restaurant Association. Guests enjoyed delicious treats provided by Antoine’s Restaurant, Broussard’s, Commander’s Palace, Drago’s Seafood Restaurant, Mr. B’s Bistro, Ralph’s on the Park and a slew of other local favorites.
For the 10th annual celebration, local Cajun fiddler Amanda Shaw provided the perfect background music during the four-hour event. Spirits, beers and hurricanes from vendors such as Crescent Crown Distributing, Pat O’Brien’s and others topped off the night. Tommy Cvitanovich with Drago’s Seafood Restaurant chaired the event.
For more than 60 years, the Louisiana Restaurant Association has brought together food service and hospitality businesses in the state to “enhance and ensure the growth and development of the food service industry in Louisiana.”
Currently, the association is composed of 7,000 restaurant operations and businesses and nine chapters statewide.
