Sometimes the path to a successful business begins on a whim. Ryan Fitzsimmons never intended to find himself in the construction industry. But in the Post-Katrina job environment, there were plenty of things that needed rebuilding and required good people to do the work. Ryan quickly fell in love with the process, rising in the ranks of his employers, and soon realized that he wanted to be his own boss. And thus, Fitz Construction was born.
“We started in 2013 as a small-scale renovation company,” says Ryan. “I could see there was a need in the market for a high-quality contractor for smaller renovations. As our reputation built over the years, we grew substantially, taking on larger renovations, additions, and new construction. We also do commercial work as well.”

Specializing in complicated additions & renovations, from tearing roofs off single-story homes to adding second floors, Fitz Construction’s niche is taking on projects that require ingenuity and finding creative solutions to novel problems, whether remodeling, constructing custom homes, or taking on commercial projects.
“Every day we are looking for better ways to serve our clients through new, innovative, and diverse projects,” says Ryan. “We like to take on as many as 5 to 7 projects at a time, different caliber of houses at different price points. That versatility really keeps our team on our toes and that’s how we like it.”
A truly collaborative organization, Ryan knows that a great idea can come from anywhere, be it from an architect, a designer, the client, or even his wife. That diversification of ideas is part of what makes Fitz Construction so unique; an eagerness to expand the reach of their capabilities, both logistically and creatively. This type of partnership ultimately leads to a more cost-effective experience for the client, keeping things on budget and schedule.
“Our collaborations have changed the business tenfold because now our clients are having their projects priced correctly, as a contractor would,” says Ryan. “This streamlining keeps the project on rails for the client and makes sure we don’t slash dreams to shreds over something as simple as the budget.”
Recently heralded for their first Parade of Homes project, Ryan and Fitz Construction’s style of business is truly making an impact, showcasing a unique passion and a profound integrity that clients have grown to love and trust. No matter the project, Fitz Construction has the expertise and customer service track record to turn your dream into a brick-and-mortar reality.
“Truly, what I pride myself and my company on is honesty,” says Ryan. “I don’t believe in problems. I believe in solutions and doing whatever it takes to make sure our clients can walk into a completed home smiling and satisfied.”
