Gregory Rusovich is a Leader for Forward New Orleans (FNO). The organization, which began in 2009, is a coalition of 25 broad-based organizations that assesses the performance of city officials in several focal areas, including efficiency, accountability, transparency, fiduciary responsibility, and best practices. FNO arose out of citizens' anger and frustration at the city government's dysfunction in the years following Hurricane Katrina. Transparency and accountability are two important areas of emphasis for Forward New Orleans. As Rusovich notes: “It [FNO] is very much an effort for holding elected officials accountable.” Each year, Forward New Orleans produces a report card that reviews how effective city officials have been in accomplishing the coalition's goals. In this interview, Rusovich highlights some of the details of the 2015 Progress Report.
