NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Four New Orleans hotels – including JW Marriott New Orleans, New Orleans Marriott, New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District and The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans – are “raising the bar” for whiskey lovers as they have unveiled hand-selected barrel picks from Buffalo Trace and Angel’s Envy distilleries. Available exclusively for bar patrons and hotel guests, organizers share these selections are part of Marriott International’s Barrel Select Program.
Each property now features its own custom single barrel bourbon, bottled exclusively for its bar:
- JW Marriott New Orleans, Lobby Lounge Single Barrel | Weller Full Proof
- New Orleans Marriott, 55 Fahrenheit Single Barrel | Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon
- New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District, Easy Virtue Single Barrels | Weller Antique 107, Eagle Rare 10 Year and Buffalo Trace
- The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, Davenport Lounge Single Barrel | Angel’s Envy
Guests can enjoy a curated flight of these premium bourbons at any of the four hotel bars – or embark on a flavorful adventure along the hotels’ very own New Orleans “Bourbon Trail,” sampling each exclusive barrel pick at its respective location. Even more barrel selections are set to debut later this year, expanding the “Bourbon Trail” and enhancing the experience.
“Whether you’re a seasoned bourbon enthusiast or just beginning your journey, our ‘Bourbon Trail’ offers a one-of-a-kind tasting experience in the heart of New Orleans,” said Frank Zumbo, area general manager, New Orleans Marriott. “Each pour tells a story – of craftsmanship, culture, and the vibrant spirit of our city.”
Behind The Barrel | Barrel Selection Process
Through Marriott’s Barrel Select Program, hotel representatives travel to Kentucky’s legendary distilleries to learn the craft of bourbon-making firsthand. Each hotel team hand-picks a single barrel, resulting in a limited-edition bourbon that reflects their unique taste and hospitality. These rare selections are perfect for sipping neat, over a large ice cube, or during special tasting events hosted at the hotels. With limited quantities available, they’re a must-try for collectors, connoisseurs, and curious newcomers alike.
“New Orleans was selected to participate in this barrel program because of the city’s unique bourbon culture,” said Gary Gruver, director of global beverage strategy for Marriott International, Inc. and a senior judge at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. “I’m looking forward to joining the New Orleans team this year in Kentucky as we select our 2025 barrel picks.”
