The first annual fundraiser for the 3 Ring Circus Arts Education Center was
a major celebration on September 27. With three stages of music, delicious
cuisine and whimsical circus-themed snacks by local restaurants, revelry was
the theme of the evening. The bash also featured raffle prizes, live and silent auctions and tons of art.
Following a patron party where Anais St. John performed, the main event took place at the Big Top Gallery, with live musical performances by Rotary Downs, Fatter Than Albert, Valpairiso Men’s Choir, Margie Perez, Fredy Omar, Michael Skinkus, Davis, ManWitch, Hands of Nero+Inferneaux Fire Performance Troupe and more. Dante’s Kitchen provided cuisine for the partygoers to keep their energy going; guests also sipped cocktails and participated in circus games.
Sponsors of the event included Gibson Guitars, Freeport-MacMoRan, River Parish, Loyola Sound, Shy-Anne Social Club Productions, Gambit Weekly, Mardi Gras Productions and WWOZ.
Honorees of the evening included Don Marshall, Dorian Bennett and Echo Olander.
The event could not have been such a success without the help from the Big Top’s board members: Charlie Brown, Judith Brown, Stephanie Brownlow, Billy Patout, Larry Savoie, Laurel Savoie, William St. Paul, Laura Tennyson, Steve Walkup, Betsy Weiss, Lee Yates and Jared Zeller.
