Furry Friend Fundraiser

NOLA City Bark, one of Louisiana’s most state-of-the-art dog parks, held it’s second “101 Donations” fundraiser Saturday, August 20 at the Pavilion of Two Sisters in City Park.

Guests were invited into a Dalmatian-inspired event complete with black-and-white spotted tablecloths and decorations. City Park Catering provided crabmeat rangoon, beef satay, shrimp and spring rolls to accompany beer, wine, daquiris and cocktails infused with pops of red to compliment the theme. The folk-indie group The Fleas provided live music that carried the fun into the night. Patrons of the fundraiser could purchase wooden cut-out Dalmatians that will hang on the City Bark fence, donning a name of choice to show support for the park. An auction benefiting both animals and their human counterparts featured items such as vet and doggie daycare packages, animal art, hotel stays, a dinner party by Toots ‘n’ Bunny and a life-sized Labrador retriever topiary from Topiary Sculptures by Ulness.

The evening gala raised funds for irrigation and lighting for the park that houses a safe zone for both small and large dogs to play, exercise and interact with other furred friends.
