An outdoor teaching kitchen is on the horizon for The New Orleans Botanical Garden at City Park, in part due to fundraising efforts from this year’s “Magic in the Moonlight.” The kitchen will host educational programs, cooking classes and workshops in the garden.
Guests entered the new Arrival Garden at dusk for cocktails; the new garden includes a green wall, water features and a colorful display of flowers under the oaks. Later, guests moved through the Alferez garden, where tables adorned with white flowers set the tone for a luxurious meal by chef Alex Harrell of Angeline. Greens were donated by Natalie Finnegan, and beverages were provided by Republic Beverage. The New Orleans Moonshiners provided musical entertainment. Sarah Young and Ashley Bright served as event chairs.
The event featured a small auction, which included a homestay at a private home in Mexico and another at The Preserve Rock Creek in Sapphire, North Carolina. A painting by Tim Trapolin and a ceramic bowl by Stephanie Huger were additional prizes.
