NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts (GRFA) is delighted to announce the launch of its latest project, the publication of The Pot & The Palette Cookbook II. This unique cookbook showcases the vibrant culinary and artistic heritage of Louisiana, featuring artwork by talented high school students and over 100 recipes contributed by renowned chefs from across the state.
The cookbook is a celebration of the rich tapestry of flavors and artistic expression for which Louisiana is known. With a dedication to the late Chef Paul Prudhomme, a legendary figure in Louisiana cuisine, this cookbook pays tribute to his contributions and serves as a lasting testament to his influence on the culinary landscape of our state.
GRFA’s The Pot & The Palette Cookbook II not only celebrates the fusion of food and art, but also provides valuable opportunities for high school students. The art contest held throughout the state allowed talented young artists to have their artwork included in the cookbook, showcasing their creativity and talent. In addition, winning students were awarded scholarships for college, encouraging their pursuit of artistic endeavors.
“Our goal with The Pot & The Palette Cookbook II is to highlight the incredible talent of Louisiana’s high school artists and the diverse culinary traditions that make our state so special,” said Jacques Rodrigue of GRFA. “We are also thrilled to have so many chefs contribute their recipes, establishing this cookbook as a true representation of the culinary excellence found only in Louisiana.”
To celebrate the cookbook and promote its sales that support foundation programming, GRFA has planned a book launch event at the Garden District Book Shop in New Orleans. It will be an opportunity to celebrate Louisiana’s unique culture, indulge in delectable cocktails and cuisine, and support arts education.
“We are honored to participate in the foundation’s cookbook and launch event,” says Dickie Brennan, founder of Dickie Brennan & Company, whose restaurants include Palace Café, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse, Bourbon House, Tableau, Acorn Café, The Commissary, and now Pascal’s Manale. “It is especially meaningful to me because of the dedication to Chef Paul Prudhomme, who was a close friend for many years.”
GRFA invites all members of the community, food enthusiasts, art lovers, and supporters of arts education to join us at the book launch event:
