Though the city of New Orleans has put bars and restaurants under more restrictions due to the rise in cases of COVID-19, New Orleans & Co – formerly the New Orleans CVB – is going ahead with its annual COOLinary New Orleans event, this year held Aug. 1 – Sept. 13.
Each year, COOLinary is celebrates the culinary excellence integral to the fabric of the city by partnering with restaurants to offer locals affordable ways to experience New Orleans. This year, due to coronavirus restrictions, COOLinary has opened its participation to include delivery and take-out options for those not ready to dine out in addition to the special two- and three- course lunch menus for $20 or less and the three-course dinner and brunch menus for $39 or less.
Let’s be honest, we’re in the midst of unbearably hot months of summer in New Orleans and COOLinary offers couples a chance to take the date day or night indoors to cool off and enjoy a delicious meal. Not only is this a way to add a little something delicious to a romantic staycation or random date adventure, it’s also a great way to support the local restaurant industry that has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
A few of the participating restaurants include Bywater American Bistro, Galatoire’s, Ralph’s On the Park, Tsunami Sushi and more.
