A few months ago, I officially lost my husband to golf. He used to play casual weekend games here and there with clients. Now, he plays twice a week alongside the other infamous golf widowers I used to side eye with skeptical curiosity. Weekends are dominated by tee times and lightning potential. All idle moments (especially in public) seem to call for my husband to air swing off an imaginary tee. He’s in deep. But, instead of mourning, I’ve decided to flip it and see the upside. Because, as much time as this hobby is taking up, I can’t deny the joy it brings to witness my husband curious and inspired by a new challenge. He’s full of a passion and competitive spirit I haven’t witnessed in years. So, instead of looking at the copious amounts of time the sport gobbles up (and make no mistake, it’s a lot), I am choosing to embrace the fullness it seems to be giving his life.
