Girls Night Out

What if shopping benefited something besides your wardrobe—such as children’s education programs? On the evening of Nov. 29, spending money on clothing and accessories at the Shops at Canal Place did just that, thanks to the Junior League of New Orleans’ “Cosmos on Canal” event, which drew more than 600 potential shoppers and raised $29,000 for the Green Charter School. Adrienne Vittadini, the Rhino Gallery, St. Germain and L’Occitane also helped out by donating 10 percent of the night’s sales.

The evening was also filled with food, spirits, music and fabulous raffles, including a $1,000 Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry shopping spree. Two staff members of Green Charter School, seventh-grade teacher Maura MacPhee and bookkeeper JoEllen Arnold received an “Ultimate Makeover”—courtesy of Paris Parker, Laura Mercier, Saks Fifth Avenue and Spanx—from a raffle drawing.
