Give NOLA Day: “Lagniappe” dollars add to your donation

Rachel Swan is a Program Associate at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. On May 2, New Orleanians will once again have the opportunity to give to the community through Give NOLA Day. In this podcast, Swan explains why the annual, one-day event is so important. She notes that, “the Greater New Orleans Foundation contributes 'Lagniappe' dollars for every dollar donated from midnight to midnight on May 2.” Non-profit organizations contribute greatly to all aspects of everyday life. Give NOLA Day is the day for people in New Orleans to give back and support the special organizations they care about. This year, a free, outdoor concert will celebrate giving in a big way. Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Irma Thomas and the Rebirth Brass Band will headline the inaugural GiveNOLA Fest. The event will take place on May 2 at 919 St. Charles Ave., between 4:30 and 8:00 p.m. To donate or for more information, visit www.GiveNOLA.org.
