Giving Thanks

The Board Managers of The Women’s Exchange held their annual “Fall Gala” to express gratitude for dedicated supporters in the Leadership Circle of the Historic Houses Society on Thursday, November 10, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Laborde. Members of this group have generously donated over $1,000 to the organization.

Inside the home was sprinkled with beautiful peonies, hydrangeas, tulips and orchids. The honored guests enjoyed dishes prepared by the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group while the sounds of Mike Morris crooned in the backyard, filling the air with the classic tunes of Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra.

Among those in attendance were board president of The Women’s Exchange, Ellen Coleman; Susan and Ralph Brennan with their son, Patrick, in the kitchen; new board members Melissa Steiner, Maury Rendeiro and Annie Phillips; board member emeritus Susan Gundlach; board member Susu Stall; chair Helen Butcher; board member Betsy Nalty; board member emeritus Joyce Pulitzer; board members emeritus and past hosts Sybil and Blair Favrot; executive director Mamie Gasperecz; Rosamonde and Carlo Capomazza di Campolattaro; Patti and Robert Lapeyre; Marilee and Andrew Hovet; Mary and Eddie Johnson; and Dr. Virginia and Joe Tatum.

The Women’s Exchange, established in 1881, seeks to make a difference in historic preservation by restoring and maintaining the Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses and interpreting their contribution and place in New Orleans. Through the help of supporters, the organization has been able to carry out their vision of offering educational, entertainment and interactive programming, while always maintaining the integrity and passion of its founder as well as its commitment to historic preservation.
