Glass Half Full & Glassroots Host 4th Annual Glass Gala “Treasure Island”

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Glass Half Full (GHF) and Glassroots will host their fourth annual Glass Gala on Friday, Oct. 24, at Latrobe’s. A patron party will welcome special guests and sponsors from 6-7 p.m., followed by a sustainable themed celebration from 7-10 p.m.

The theme is “Treasure Island” to celebrate Glass Half Full’s newest recycling facility on Treasure Street, once a forgotten dumpsite, now home to a state-of-the-art glass processing facility and islands built from recycled glass sand. Guests are encouraged to dress to theme and compete for “best dressed.”

The Glass Gala is an annual celebration that aims to raise awareness and funds for glass recycling and environmental impact initiatives in the Greater New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana regions. Since 2020, GHF has diverted over 10 million pounds of glass from landfills and partnered on more than six coastal restoration projects.

Proceeds benefit Glassroots – the partner nonprofit of GHF – which reimagines glass waste as a community and environmental asset. Funds raised will help expand free recycling services, educational outreach, and stormwater management projects across Greater New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana.

Guests will enjoy live music, an open bar, Louisiana delicacies, biodegradable glitter, a “Best Dressed” contest, an auction featuring local artists and more. Patron Party attendees receive early entry, exclusive perks, and champagne service. Join us in turning waste into wonder and making a lasting impact on our city.

Tickets can be purchased online and range from $150 – $500. Sponsorship and donation opportunities are available—contact Mags (mags@weareglassroots.org) for more information.
